The Secret Garden | Vancouver WA portrait Photographer

So I was watching the movie "The Secret Garden" with my girls one evening and had the idea to re-create it in a more modern, simplistic way. I was originally going to use a little girl who fit my 'vision' perfectly, but it didn't work out that way. Sooo, I ended up bribing my little girl to be my model for this. ;)

But, OMG! Was it tough!

This girl would not stop talking, moving, or jumping around. (this is why I rarely take photos of my kiddos outside of our home).  At one point, we even came across another photographer, and she just would not stop talking about it :)

Towards the end of our shoot, she made friends with a little bird. Seriously, it was the weirdest connection between them. He/She followed my daughter around everywhere, constantly choosing a new spot to perch whenever Londyn (my daughter) stopped. They even exchanged some tweets (whistles). It truly was the sweetest thing ever.

Anyways... I hope you enjoy viewing these photos. I had a lot of fun creating them <3

Boho Maternity Session - Portland, Oregon | Maternity Photographer

I was...like...ridiculously excited for this shoot. I've had this idea running around in my head for a long time and finally decided to bite the bullet and start planning a shoot around my idea.

I started with the idea of Boho, and decided to incorporate it into my favorite type of photography to shoot... Maternity.

I contacted Lisa at Woodlawn Floral Studio, and arranged for her to make a couple floral crowns.
(which by the way, are absolutely GORGEOUS)

I then went on the hunt for a model! Hailey sent me an e-mail and I knew she'd be perfect. She's expecting a daughter in April and couldn't look better!!!

The location for the shoot was changed at the last minute and I think it turned out amazing, considering I left all the big props I had planned, out.

I hope you enjoy viewing this images as much as I enjoyed capturing them.

And of course, I wouldn't let her leave without  snapping a few images of her in her "street clothes"
;)
